OKURAYA VINYL RECORD BAR
HISTORY
Okuraya was originally a kimono dyeing and laundry business that had been in business for generations.
I think this is a job that is hardly known these days, but in the past this area was a red-light district and so it seems to have been scattered throughout.
The head of the family, four generations before me, started out making family crests (crests that represent the family) for kimonos, and then up until my father's generation, he continued making, dyeing, washing, and maintaining kimonos.
You can see the highway right there, but in the past there was a river flowing through the area, and people would wash kimonos that had been folded back into rolls.
Now that our third-generation father has passed away, the remaining family wanted to open a restaurant that was something new, but still had the feel of the old Okuraya!
The truth is...
The master is music...
My mother and I love alcohol
This shop was created with the hope that it would be filled with things that my family loves and that we could enjoy with our customers!
I hope you enjoy this little atmosphere!
